ComTec Mobile Basic Product Warranty Policy as of January 1st 2007

If a handset is defective within the first 30 days (60 days for handsets under $100.00) from ComTecMobile’s invoice date:

ComTec Mobile will first attempt to repair the product and if within 7 business days the product can not be repaired then a replacement product will be issued. (If a replacement is not available a refund excluding shipping charges will be issued) ComTec Mobile will only replace the product provided that it is in brand new condition (sellable as brand new) and contains all instruction books, cords, accessories, etc. that were originally included with the product.

If the product is not in brand new condition but is in acceptable return condition ComTec Mobile will charge a 15% restocking fee and replace the product provided that it contains all instruction books, cords, accessories, etc. that were originally included with the product.

ComTec Mobile will not replace any product that is not in acceptable return condition.

ComTec Mobile is responsible for classifying the condition of any product.

If a handset is defective after the first 30 days (60 days for handsets under $100.00) from ComTec Mobile’s invoice date:

ComTec Mobile will not accept any warranty claims directly.

If a Cellular Warranty Plan was sold to the customer at their time of purchase then the customer should file a claim directly with the Warranty Company of Canada by calling: 1-877-281-1935.

Please note that Warranty Company of Canada is the official partner of Cesium a partner of ComTec Mobile’s who provide OEM Warranty for international products in Canada. Full Terms and Conditions of the coverage are available at: www.wcc.waca.com/telco.html.

If a Cellular Warranty Plan was not sold to the customer at their time of purchase then the customer is responsible for dealing directly with the manufacturer and shall be subject to manufacturer's warranties and return policies, if any.

The manufacturer's warranty, if applicable, is offered by the manufacturer only, not ComTec Mobile, and maybe be restricted by geographical constraints. The manufacturer determines in which country the item must be sent to for servicing. Please note that the servicing country can be other than Canada.

PLEASE NOTE: LOANER PHONES WILL NOT BE OFFERED

All OEM Accessories are sold with a one year exchange policy from ComTec Mobile’s invoice date.

Turnaround time for exchanges may take up to 4 – 6 weeks.

No claims will be accepted without an RMA number issued by ComTec Mobile.

All RMA request must be submitted online at: http://www.comtecmobile.ca/contact_us.php

ComTec Mobile does not cover the following:

• Equipment damage due to improper handling.
• Acts of God
• Failure of product due to normal wear and tear
• Problems caused by using accessories other then those specified in the user manual
• Since the cellular system on which the product is to operate is provided by a carrier independent from ComTecMobile,

ComTec Mobile will not be responsible for the operation, availability, coverage, services or range of the system.

• Tampering with any of the seals on the product will void any and all warranties
• Compatibility with added services such as GPRS, MMS, SMS, Bluetooth, E-Mail, Reception and others. An item will not be
considered as defective for incompatibility issues with services from your GSM Service Provider.

There are no express warranties, whether written or oral, other than this printed limited warranty. All implied warranties,
including without limitation the implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, are limited to the
duration of this limited warranty. In no event shall ComTec Mobile be liable for incidental or consequential damages of any nature whatsoever, including but not limited to lost profits or commercial loss, to the full extent those damages can be disclaimed by law.

 


 

Return Shipping Instructions

WARNING: ComTec Mobile maintains serial number tracking. ComTec Mobile will not provide warranty for products purchased from any other re-tail or e-tail business. ComTec Mobile will notify the authorities if any item is discovered to be stolen and will not be returned to shipper. Credit or replacement will not be issued.

Please read the following shipping instructions carefully. Products that arrive damaged in shipment, without an RMA number will be refused. Products damaged through neglect due to improper packaging or in shipment, will void the warranty and be returned to you at your expense non-repaired. Any alteration to the product (i.e., removal, damage, or tampering of labels or seal, defacement of the product or abuse) will void the warranty and be returned to you at your expense non-repaired. RMA numbers will expire after 14 days.

Only products authorized with an RMA number will be accepted. For questions about your RMA Packing Slip, please contact ComTec Mobile Computers prior to shipment at support@comtecmobile.com.

The following are helpful guidelines for packaging products for shipment. By adhering to these guidelines you will provide the best possible protection for the product so it is not further damaged in transit. Place the product in its original packaging or ESD (electro-static discharge) protective bag (if shipped with one) prior to shipment. Use an outer carton that is made of corrugated paper. Do not use chipboard as it is not strong enough to withstand the rigors of transit. Please make sure the corrugated carton is free from defects and is structurally sound.

To protect the product from shock, you will need to use a cushioning material. Foam may also be used as long as the product cannot move when the box is jolted and foam is covering all sides of the product. To ensure the product does not move inside the corrugated carton, make sure that you have secured the product snugly with the same amount of cushioning on all sides due to the fact the carton could be dropped on any side during shipping.

When shipping more than one product in a single carton, ensure that the product does not touch and they are both cushioned individually. If utilizing foam, a minimum of 2" in all directions should be used. Peanuts or flowables maybe used during shipping. Seal the corrugated carton firmly using adhesive backed tape. Your RMA number must be visible on 3 sides of the box. Do not write RMA numbers on the retail packaging - this will VOID your return. Any package sent in without an RMA number will be refused.

Please use a traceable carrier that can provide you with proof of delivery (i.e., Fed Ex, UPS, U.S. Priority Mail, Purolator etc.) when returning your product. It is strongly recommend that you fully insure the package you are returning in the event that package is lost or damaged in transit If shipping via a packaging store, make certain that the RMA number is visibly placed on the outside of the package along with your name and return address. ComTec Mobile  is not responsible for items returned that are lost or damaged in transit, this is an issue between the Courier and you.
